What are we about?

All Saints is an Anglican Church orthodox in belief. We hold to the teaching of the church handed down through history. As the Church family we come from a variety of backgrounds, cover the age range and include married and single people. What unites us is our faith in God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We acknowledge the Bible as God’s Word to us and our final authority when it comes to what we believe and how we are to behave.

The
Church motto is “growing and going in the love of Jesus Christ” and that is our aim. We take the teaching of the Bible seriously and seek to put the love of God into action.

GROWING IN THE LOVE OF JESUS CHRIST
As the Church Family of All Saints Chigwell Row we believe we have been forgiven our sins through the holy love of God. This love was shown when Jesus died on the cross for our sins. It was a once for all perfect sacrifice. We do not deserve this love but receive it as an act of infinite mercy, through God’s grace alone, by faith alone.
We have been set free from the power of sin. We no longer choose to live our lives to please ourselves. Instead, we seek to be led by the Holy Spirit who lives in us.
We acknowledge that God’s ways are best.

GOING IN THE LOVE OF JESUS CHRIST
Having received His mercy and love we recognise our responsibility to go and share the love we have received with others that they too might have the opportunity to know and follow Christ.

What is our DNA?

Vision Statement AD 2006

Our commission is to proclaim that God loves a lost and rebellious world and has demonstrated this in the work and person of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We need to set a positive, empowering culture that will produce a passionate conviction within everyone that what God has entrusted to us is the most important thing on the planet and certainly the greatest hope we can communicate to our communities!

Our mission to accomplish this is to make a positive and lasting contribution to the communities in which we live and work by tangibly bringing the love of God and the fellowship of the Lord Jesus Christ to those around us.

I believe that our vision must be weaved into the fabric of everything we do.  Actually, what we ‘do’ expresses more accurately what our real vision is than what our vision statement says on paper.

Our vision to enable this is to nurture our Church family to grow in the love of Jesus by providing a safe, welcoming and relevant environment in which to worship.

Culture and conviction can only come from internal values, so I think it starts there. It is of course true that “Without vision the people perish” but I believe equally that without culture the vision perishes, or at best becomes disconnected from what we actually do. As we begin to get this right, and bring people into an environment where it is normal to be devoted to and enthusiastic about God’s house and God’s purposes for us, then the vision thing will flow out of that without having to flog the proverbial dead horse.
